Traveling south along the M3 out of Cape Town in the direction of Muizenberg, you will find yourself in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town. In general these areas are leafy, tree-lined and up-market, with pleasant shady properties and plenty of lush vegetation.
The popular residential regions of the Southern Suburbs are serviced by excellent shopping malls, good schools, sports and recreational grounds and other well-run facilities.
Newlands has the world-famous cricket and rugby grounds located centrally while Kenilworth is home to a large Horse Racing Track. Constantia is charmingly rural with many equestrian facilities and a nearby Golf Course. Bishop's Court is one of the wealthiest areas of the Cape with many sumptuous homes and gardens.
The Southern Suburbs around Mowbray, Observatory, Rosebank and Rondebosch have a very different feel as they are populated by large numbers of students based at the University of Cape Town's campus.
