Kenilworth is a large, leafy suburb that stretches from Lansdowne Road to Wetton Road, and from the Kenilworth race course to the Main Road (and beyond in some parts). Above the railway line are numerous mansions and manor houses, while below the railway line in the Harfied Village area is mix of students, young couples and locals who have lived there for throughout apartheid. While parts of Kenilworth are quiet and refined, there are other parts that are vibrant and bustling. When the weather is right and the trees are just budding, the racecourse in Kenilworth plays host to some of the most outrageous hats and outfits seen this side of Ascot. The J&B Met is held at the end of summer each year, a must for any horseracing fan.

Upper Kenilworth, although a little further away from the racecourse, has some amazing accommodation, designed for those looking for luxury during their Cape Town stay. Built as a memorial to the great prospector and miner, Rhodes Memorial has a fine restaurant on the slopes of Table Mountain.
