About accommodation in Cape Town City Centre
The multi-cultural nature of the Cape Town City Bowl is reflected in its accommodation. Hotels, bed and breakfasts accommodation and guesthouses can all be found within the City Bowl, with differing price brackets and star grading.
Cape Town is fondly referred to as the Mother City, the place where life is nurtured. Under the slopes of Table Mountain and Signal Hill, the city bowl revels in the unique position of having mountainous landscapes combined with ocean vistas. The city itself is divided between different sections, each offering different accommodation options, worthy of any discerning tourist and traveller.
Start your search for City Bowl accommodation at the entrance to the city, Adderly Street. Here you can find numerous hotels as well as the train station and a bustling, truly African underground shopping mall. The roads are safe (beware of the taxis!) and many city helpers dot the corners to assist you in whatever you may need to find your way around the city.
Long Street is a cosmopolitan avenue running the length of the City Bowl. Here you can find back packers lodges, restaurants and clubs and African curio shops with a luxury twist. Green Market square is just a few blocks down from here, currently undergoing renovation.
Wherever you may choose to spend your time in the city, make sure you book a few days out of your schedule to explore the centre using the City Bowl accommodation as you base.
