Description

To find a family safari option with this amount of natural history is rare. The entire game reserve is built on family traditions and histories, as five generations ago Settlers came to this part of the Eastern Cape to farm sheep and cattle. The wild and often hostile frontier of the Zuurveld has now been transformed into the hospitable Frontier Country where you can find the decedents of those families. A true wildlife experience has been recreated here to capture your imagination, refresh your soul and conserve our natural heritage.

The rich historical heritage is whispered quietly in the swaying of the veld grasses and cried by the Fish Eagle. If you are silent and listen closely you can hear the old ox-wagons of bygone days rumbling through the valleys and hills of the region. Amakhala Game Reserve welcomes you to experience a unique family safari in natural surroundings.
