The Lowveld's untouched wilderness is home to the largest concentrations of free roaming elephant, lion, rhino, leopard, buffalo, cheetah and many other mammal species. MalaMala supports a variety of biomes from dense riverine forest and acacia-combretum bushveld to open grassland and rocky outcrops. Each of these various habitat types sustains different plant and animal species unique to that type.
