Botswana's "Land of the Giants" hosts the largest herds of elephant on privately owned land on earth, whilst giving guests the opportunity to explore and become actively involved in maintaining this glorious landscape.
An ornithological paradise, Mashatu Game Reserve offers an enchanting array of indigenous birds, numbering 350 species at the last count. The endangered Wild Dog was recently introduced into the reserve, while many smaller aspects of wildlife exist to surprise and entice you.

Treat your children to a package tailor made to them with Mashatu's Children's Programme. From your family room at Mashatu's Main Camp, take your kids on a wild and wacky wildlife walk and treat them to a wildlife film in the recreation area. Cultural experiences, crocodile feeding, pool games and animal trivia games get the kids involved and excited!
Limpopo Valley airfield provides an airstrip for your private jet or chartered flight. Once landed, an escort will accompany you to the lodge to make it in good time for your first safari of the day. Aircraft up to 21 tonnes are catered for at the airfield.
Watch the animals pass you by from a private veranda at Mashatu Tented Camp. With no more than 16 guests at any one time and no children allowed under the age of twelve, your stay will indulgent and exclusive as you stare into the bushveld, hoping to catch a glimpse of the secretive bushbaby. Outdoor showers and a boma lodge complete the picture.
Mashatu offers two types of lodges for your accommodation. Choose from the Mashatu Main Camp, a luxury lodge which is child friendly and traditionally African, or the secluded Mashatu Tented Camp which offers solitude and luxury in spades.

Mashatu Game Reserve is located within the Limpopo-Shashe Transfrontier Conservation Area, developed on the 22nd of June 2006. The three countries of Zimbabwe, South Africa and Botswana pledged to develop a reserve to protect and maintain the natural surroundings of all animals indigenous to the area. Located on the border between South Africa and Botswana, Mashatu is perfected situated for a getaway of more than a day. Due to its unique location, we recommend that guests either fly in for their safari or spend a night or two within the reserve so as not to rush the soulful experience which you are bound to have in the reserve.
Safari Features:
Mashatu offers a variety of safaris which will delight and surprise you as you are lead through the reserve by knowledgeable guides and rangers. Take your children along on the specially designed childrens programme or, for the more adventurous, choose between a horse or mountain bike safari or a predator or ivory drive (seeking out elephants or lions respectively). Stay at one of two camps (or hop from one to the other on each night) within Mashatu, the main camp or the luxurious tented camp.
