For those of you who have survived your first static line jump and are hooked, this is the next step. You could simply re-take the same jump, but if you want to move forward and experience freefall, this course, taken over a two-week period, is for you.
The Course
The day after your first SL jumps you will undergo a second session of ground training, in preparation for your next jump, a 35-40 second freefall. You will rehearse the jump sequence during training on the ground.
This jump is done under the guidance of two AFF instructors who will monitor and assist you throughout the Freefall, but you will open your own parachute, check it and then control it down to the landing.
The Course comprises ten levels of progression in total, each consisting of a ground training session and a minimum of one jump. Each level has to be completed successfully before you may move on to the next one.
Levels 1-3
Assisted by 2 AFF instructors you will learn the primary skills required for freefall.
Levels 4-7
Only 1 AFF instructor is now needed as to help you learn solo skills.
Levels 8 – 10
You will experience a minimum of three solo jumps.
Once you have successfully completed 25 freefall jumps you will receive an internationally recognised A-licence.
It is recommended you set aside a total of two weeks to complete the course and required subsequent jumps to allow for bad weather and other commitments you may have. |
