You may wish to opt for the boat trip out to Seal Island which launches from the harbour (this takes 30 minutes) to view the inhabitants of the island.

On leaving Hout Bay you get to experience one of the most scenic drives in the world - Chapman's Peak Drive. Twists and turns, sheer cliffs and eternal sea views make this an incredible experience in every way. Continue via Noordhoek and Kommetjie, each stunning locations in their own right. Eventually arrive at the Cape Of Good Hope Nature Reserve.

This is where you get to hop on a mountain bike to enjoy the fresh sea air and rugged beauty of the reserve which is populated with Cape flora and fauna, dassies, buck and baboons can be spied amongst the Fynbos, the Cape's unique vegetation.

You can choose to cycle as much or as little as you like as the support van is always nearby. Those who want to hike may enjoy the 1/2 hour cliff top hike from Cape Point to the Cape of Good Hope.

Having worked up a healthy appetite, you'll be ready for a picnic lunch somewhere in the reserve. If it's sunny, be sure you have a swimming costume for cooling off at one of the gorgeous little beaches dotted around the edge of the reserve.

The drive home takes us past the rare colony of Jackass penguins at Boulders Beach, where you may choose to disembark and meet these charming marine birds in their own environment.
