Negotiate the Akkedisberg Pass. The landscape changes dramatically as seemingly-eternal sun-whitened sand dunes stretch to the sea.

After a long morning's ride, we break for lunch in Hermanus. This pristine seaside town boasts the best land-based whale viewing opportunities in the world! For delectable cuisine, unique atmosphere and unsurpassed views Bintang's Cave Restaurant is a must!

Next, you have the chance to do some boat-based whale watching, spotting the Southern Right Whales at the closest range legally allowed. This boat trip lasts for two hours, leaving at 15h00 (in season only).

The day is superbly ended off with a ride through part of the world's richest floral kingdom. The coastal road past Kleinmond, Pringle Bay, Betty's Bay and Gordon's Bay is so beautiful; you'll have a hard time keeping your eyes on the road. Sea views on one side and spectacular mountain views on the other vie for attention.
