Details

The Weekend Breede River rafting trip follows a basic itinerary as follows, although there may be variations depending on individual circumstances.

Friday:

You arrives at the Wild Thing base camp in Swellendam by 17h00. Your guides will meet and greet you here and an informal fireside evening meal will be served from 20h00. This is a good time to relax, ask questions and mingle with fellow trippers.

Saturday

After an early farmhouse breakfast, you will be shown how to pack your belongings into dry bags. You will be transported to a put-in point 20km upstream to undergo a briefing on safety and environmental matters. Hop into the two-man inflatable canoes and get in to the river and downstream till lunchtime. The guides serve lunch on the riverbank and there will even be time for a snooze! Stop overnight at a camp in the bush along the banks where a hearty evening meal will be enjoyed around the fire. You will fall asleep under the African night sky.

Sunday

The guides will serve up another of their great breakfasts and then it's time to break camp and continue downstream to the lunch stop. Thereafter, it's back to base camp where a hot shower is all that remains before saying goodbye and heading back to Cape Town with a full camera and plenty of great memories!
