View photos and learn more about River rafting in Cape Town.

Description

Travel down the awesome Orange River - 2250 km of sea-bound water makes this one of the longest rivers on the continent. We take you down a section 55 km long, which traverses the remote and beautiful Richtersveld area. We offer variations on the basic itinerary on request.

The Trip

The 4-day Orange River trip follows a basic itinerary as follows, although there may be variations depending on individual circumstances.

Day One

Your group needs to arrive at the Wild Thing base camp from 17h00 onwards. Your guides will meet and greet you and an informal fireside evening meal will be served from 20h00. This is a good time to relax, ask questions and mingle with fellow trippers.

Day Two, Three and Four

After an early breakfast you will be shown how to pack your raft and undergo a briefing on safety and environmental matters before embarking on the trip of a lifetime. The guides serve lunch, and later dinner, on the riverbank. The guests can enjoy sun-downers and snacks before a hearty evening meal around the fire, then fall asleep under the African night sky.

Day Five

After a good breakfast you will spend your last morning on the river, ending at a pick-up point where transport waits to take the group back to base camp. A quick lunch and a hot shower precede last goodbyes.
