During the three or four hour excursion, visitors are taken through the now-empty high security prisons where they can visit Mandela's cell and meet one of the ex-prisoners.

The visit is unique and memorable, offering a different perspective on the apartheid era as well as stunning views across the Bay to Table Mountain.

Ferries leave at regular intervals throughout the day from the Clock Tower precinct at the Waterfront, and you are strongly advised to book well in advance to avoid disappointment.
