This incredible tour packs in hours of kayaking in addition to numerous activities that will really let you become immersed in the city of Cape Town and its surrounds.
Much more than a couple days of paddling, be prepared for a full experience of Cape Town from day one.
Day One
The first day explores the city of Cape Town from Signal Hill, including such highlights as the Cape Castle, the SA National Gallery and Museum, various cultural regions where you will meet with locals in their homes. Lunch at a top city restaurant is included and you will spend your first night at a good hotel.
Day Two
We get into the water on this day, launching from Table Bay with the awesome backdrop of Table Mountain providing the perfect setting. The day will see us paddling along the gorgeous Atlantic Seaboard, home to the well-heeled of the city.
Your second night is spent once again in the city hotel we have reserved for you.
Day Three
This day it’s back to the land as we take a day’s walk up, and down, Table Mountain. Being able to add reaching the top of this iconic landmark to your list of wonderful experiences is well-worth the sweat. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch along the way.
Day Four
Back in the water, today you will get to paddle from the fishing harbour village of Hout Bay. The waters here are perfect for kayaking, and we will head for Seal Island, a small rock inhabited by 100s of Cape Fur seals. In winter you may also get to encounter the Southern Right Whales – an unforgettable experience.
Day Five
An important day in the tour, today we start at the District Six museum and then go on to tour some of the informal settlements where we meet up with locals and learn about the darker aspects of the country’s history. A trip out to Robben Island is a sobering yet uplifting end to the day, leaving one with a sense of hope for the future.
Day Six
A free day, for sleeping, shopping, doing whatever you want! We’re still city based tonight but tomorrow we’re on the move down south, so make the most of the bright lights today.
Day Seven
A gorgeous day is spent in the Simon’s Town area. We paddle from the Simon’s Town Waterfront, past the naval and civilian harbors and on to Boulder’s Beach – a delightful spot populated by a large colony of African Penguins. After spending time getting acquainted with these little chaps we head to a secluded beach for a picnic, and for those who wish, some snorkeling.
From tonight onwards you will be staying in charming Simon’s Town accommodation.
Day Eight
We take a scenic drive one and a half hours from Simon’s Town to the pristine sea-side holiday town of Hermanus. In whale season you can look forward to watching whales and calves cavort in the waves from this the best land-based whale-watching spot in the world. Off-season it still makes for a lovely day out.
Day Nine
An awesome day’s paddling awaits – we head out for the Cape of Good Hope for a challenging and rewarding day’s kayaking in the vicinity of the Point. This trail leaves the beach within the Cape Point Nature Reserve so you’ll get to see the location of the meeting point between the Beguile and Mozambique currents from land and sea.
Today, you could encounter numerous wildlife species including various antelope species, baboons, ostriches, and while out on the water, dolphins and perhaps whales.
Day Ten
A perfect end to the trip of a lifetime, we spend the day
in the magnificent Cape Winelands. Apart from wine tastings
at world-renowned estates we also may include visits to cheese
and chocolate factories as well as meeting some wild cats
on a cheetah farm.
We are sure you will agree, for the total Cape Experience including many hours of idyllic sea kayaking you cannot beat this 10 day trip.
