Description

Welcome to the most popular thing to do in Cape Town, Shark Cage Diving! After a good breakfast and a brief introductory talk we head in the direction of Dyer Island, around 25 minutes off shore. We usually launch at around 9a.m.

However, if you have your own equipment and a current Diving Certificate, you may utilise your scuba equipment if you wish to do so. Some operators feel that the bubbles deter the sharks, however.

Please book your trip early as Shark Cage Diving is a popular activity with the locals and tourists alike.

While you are travelling to the viewing spot, the boat passes through the aptly-named Shark Ally. Across from this canal lies Geyser Rock, home to 60,000 Cape Fur Seals. We get to view the thriving colony and in November can enjoy the sight of newly born seal pups. Shark activity here makes for great viewing and photo-ops!

Your safety is paramount to us. Passengers are fitted with comfortable inflatable life-jackets. For your peace of mind we have extensive public liability insurance. The cage is made out of a 25 mm galvanized mild steel frame and covered with 10 mm galvanized mild steel security mesh.
