Even in Africa not every day is a sunny day – in fact Cape Town has a high winter rainfall, while in summer the South-Easter wind can blow away any desire to spend time out of doors.
So what is there to do for the eco-tourist on inclement days in the Cape?
The Two Ocean Aquarium is perfect for days when the weather is not conducive to being out in the wild.
It is also an ideal way to experience the wonders of Cape marine life without having to get your feet wet!
Set at the top tourist venue in all of South Africa, the V&A Waterfront, the Aquarium is ideally positioned to showcase the incredible diversity of marine life found in our two oceans. Over 3000 living sea creatures, including sharks, fishes, seals, turtles and penguins can be seen in this spectacular underwater nature reserve.
South Africa’s rich ocean and aquatic life is cleverly presented in six galleries - The Indian Ocean and Atlantic Ocean Galleries, the Cape Fur Seal Exhibit, the Sappi River Meander Exhibit - The Story of a River, the Kelp Forest Exhibit - An Enchanted Forest and the impressive I&J Predator Exhibit.
With the knowledgeable marine biologists to guide you through the various displays you will learn and experience a vast amount in a relatively short few hours. For the more adventurous there is the chance to go diving in the shark cage for a little adrenaline. |
