The secrets and of coast are unveiled on this tour of the Peninsula, from the Dalebrook Marine Reserve on False Bay, past Kalk Bay, through Simons Town via the penguin colony at Boulders Beach, via Smitswinkelbaai to the renowned Cape Point National Park.
What can you anticipate experiencing along the way?
At Dalebrook you’ll explore fascinating Rock Pools brimming with sea-life. At Kalk Bay we take a tour of the colourful fishing harbour. The penguin colony at Boulders is one of only two mainland colonies in Africa. This is a wonderful opportunity to observe and photograph these birds in their own habitat. Smitswinkelsbaai is an eco-village only accessible on foot right on the coastline.
Cape Point is the ‘jewel’ of the Peninsula, populated with ostrich, zebra, bontebok and eland. Troops of baboons have adapted to their coastal existence, eating mussels collected from the shores.
At Cape Point we hike through the incredibly diverse fynbos, explore wild bays and beaches and of course, view Cape Point itself, the most southwestern point of Africa.
Note - Depending on your interests we can also tailor-make this tour for you to include a selection of more active activities including specialist birding, longer hikes at Cape Point, snorkelling, mountain biking, kayaking, drives along the historic Chapman’s Peak drive, a visit to an indigenous nursery and a boat trip to Seal Island.
