Dave & Kathy - Location, Location, Location AND sensational staff

10 Overall Rating

Thankyou Brian and Joseph, your happy disposition and enormous smiles made coming and going from The Portswood such a delight.for us.
We stayed at The Portswood for 5 nights at the start of a month long African holiday and would return without hesitation. It's location right next to the V&A waterfront is ideal, a quiet location but only a short safe stroll to all the waterfront's restaurants and attractions. It is also a pleasant walk to the city centre.
Our room #302 was a good size and comfortable although the air conditioning unit was noisy. A big tick for an opening window. Breakfast was of a high standard - Simon, Morris and the chef excelled with their service. Evening drinks around the pool relaxed us after a busy day. Being so close to the waterfront we didn't eat dinner in the hotel restaurant. The free internet access was a bonus.
What makes The Portswood really shine is all its staff. From our arrival to our departure nothing was a problem and every request was handled with enthusiasm.

Bruno - Excelent value for service and location

10 Overall Rating

On my travels I was unexpectedly required to stay in Cape Town, The Ports Wood hotel became my home for several days. The service was a great example and display of hospitality, Johanni at the reception ensured I got all the information I could possibly need during my stay in Cape Town in regards of what to do and where to go, Desmond always at the door with a great smile and a welcome home greeting, Imke, Kelly Shireen and Khaltoema always very helpful as well. A glass of Monas Sherry at the reception was a very nice arrival touch. The room where very well appointed and quiet.
My breakfast and dinner where taken on location. Chef Craig Paulse and William Ionkers have definitively hooked me on Bobotie and Malaya Curry all the food was well executed and very tactfully displayed and served. Iloid provided great attention in service. The beauty of it all was the 4 minute walk to the bustling water front
Great stay and congratulations to all the staff for wonderful place to call home for a few days. Thank you all for the great help and service.

Tracey - Wonderful, will definately stay again

We stayed for a week at The Portswood and it exceeded our expectations, the staff were fantastic, couldnt be more helpful, arranged transport for us and in all areas of the hotel were friendly and couldnt do more.
I emailed prior to going to ask for a pick up from the airport, i received a reply that day and the car was waiting on our arrival.
The hotel was lovely, nicely appointed and the bed was heavenly. It was very clean and the rooms done twice a day.
The location was great, just above the V & A Waterfront a five minute walk, we felt very safe and walked to and from during the day and the night without any problems.
Overall I couldnt rate this hotel high enough, every aspect was wonderful, all enhanced by the amazing staff.
