Lebos Soweto Backpackers

The tour commences with collection from your Johannesburg hotel and a transfer to Soweto. Here you shall meet up with your cycling guides at Lebo's Soweto Backpackers and be kitted with a bicycle and helmet. Before heading out on the tour, you will be briefed on safety to make your excursion as enjoyable as possible.

Orlando Look Out Point

The first stop is at the look-out point at Orlando West and East. View the surroundings of the township including the famous soccer team, Orlando Pirates home-ground Orlando Stadium while the guide takes you through the history of Soweto as well as current developments and life today. Learn one of the many greetings to interact with people along the way!

Mzhimphlope Men's Hostel

Other stops along the way include the Mzhimphlope Men's' hostel, the vibrant community of Meadowlands and a stop at one of Sowetos few mansions owned by jazz musician Abigail Khubeka.

Hector Pieterson & The Mandela House Museum

Some sobering visits include the Hector Pieterson Memorial and the Nelson Mandela House Musuem. Enjoy rides along small streets of the township, stopping at street stalls selling popular township snacks, fruit and ice lollies. The cycling tour ends with a traditional meal served al fresco at Lebo's Backpackers before heading back to your hotel.
