CAPE PENINSULA HARLEY DAVIDSON TOUR

An ever-popular route by car, touring around the Cape Peninsula is even better on a classic Harley-Davidson!

We start in the heart of the Mother City – a cosmopolitan CBD with plenty of cultural and architectural aspects to view as we head out past Sea Point to the Atlantic Seaboard.

We pass the famous, beautiful white beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay with their blindingly white sand and sparking aquamarine waters. Leaving the charming fishing harbour 'village' of Hout Bay the road winds up onto one of the most spectacular drives in the world - Chapman's Peak. The cliffs plunge down into the crashing waves far below, and the views are as breathtaking as the curves of the road!

Riding through rural Noordhoek, we head for the quaint village of Kommetjie with the Slangkop lighthouse, then along another stunning coastal drive to Misty Cliffs and Scarborough. From these nature-lovers’ haunts we ride on to the wild and rocky promontory of Cape Point at The Cape Of Good Hope Nature Reserve, from where you can be awed at the stunning views of the place where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet.

Next, we head along the False Bay coastline to the picturesque Victorian-style naval village of Simons Town. This is the home of the South African Navy and is even better known to many as the site of the African penguin colony at Boulders Beach.

During the winter months you may well enjoy the sight of whales in the bay from the saddle of your bike.

Finally, we head back inland via the spectacular Ou Kaapse Weg Pass, through the shady pine plantations and forests of Tokai and Constantia, with a stop at the world-renowned Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens before heading back into the city.

A glorious day out on a glorious machine!
