The most well-known and arguably best of the Cape ice rinks has to be the one situated at the Grand West Casino Complex.

Not run by the casino, the Olympic sized ‘Ice Station’ not only offers general skating for the public but also hosts training classes, competitions and events in figure skating, synchronized skating and ice hockey as well as corporate functions and spell-binding ‘on ice’ shows.

Their ‘Sunday Nite Club’ is great for families to attend, where for a joining fee and annual subscription you can enjoy tuition for adults and children and participate in regular games evenings and competitions.

One-on-one coaching sessions are also available at the rink.

For beginners there is a handy rail all the way around the rink while small children have their very own mini-rink under a ‘starry sky’ in the food court area.

Skates are available for hire in all standard sizes.
