The Groot Constantia Estate is the oldest wine farm in the country, and dates back to the earliest European settlers; it was the home of Simon van der Stel, the very first Governor of the Cape. This explains why Constantia is known the as birthplace of the wine farming industry in South Africa.

The rolling vineyards in this historical valley are beautiful at any time of year. As for the produce, the Constantia wines have been in demand by high profile international individuals, from Napoleon through to European Royalty from the 18th Century till today.

Your Cape Winelands sidecar adventure will take you on a tour of each of the five vineyards in the valley - Groot Constantia, Klein Constantia, Buitenverwachting, Constantia Uitsig and Steenberg. Apart from touring the cellars and vineyards, and indulging in the tasting of award-winning wines, you can also enjoy a round of Golf, dine at one of the impressive five-star restaurants on the various estates and simply enjoy cruising along the leafy avenues of this rural suburb.
